3DPTEK-J4000: 4-Meter Flaskless Sand Molds at a 2.5-Meter Price
Flaskless sand molds up to 4 meters — printed directly from CAD, no patterns, no size compromise. Patented boxless flexible-area technology makes a 4 m machine affordable at the price level of a 2.5 m system, and 6 / 8 / 10 m configurations are available on request.

When Your Castings Are Measured in Meters, Not Millimeters
The 3DPTEK-J4000 prints sand molds up to 4 meters directly from CAD. No patterns, no tooling, no size compromise — and a price that finally makes mega-format 3D printing practical.
The 4-Meter Breakthrough, Priced Like a 2.5-Meter Machine
Conventional mega-format 3D printers scale in price almost exponentially with build size. Boxless flexible-area forming changes that equation — the J4000 delivers genuine 4-meter mold printing at the investment level of a 2.5-meter system, with 6 / 8 / 10 m configurations available on request.
Six-Figure Pattern Costs
Large pattern sets for mega-castings cost $50,000–$200,000+ and take 8–16 weeks to machine. The J4000 eliminates these costs entirely.
Multi-Segment Mold Assembly
Traditional mega-casting molds need dozens of pattern segments. Every joint is a potential defect. The J4000 prints the complete mold as a single integrated assembly.
Months of Lead Time
Mega-casting projects routinely take 4–6 months from pattern order to first pour. With the J4000, foundries quote weeks instead of months.

Why Foundries Choose the 3DPTEK-J4000 for Mega-Castings
At the 4-meter scale, engineering maturity and support infrastructure matter most.
Flexible-Area Printing Technology
Patented boxless flexible-area forming technology breaks the rule that larger forming sizes mean exponentially higher equipment prices — a 4 m or larger machine is priced at the level of a 2.5 m machine. It prints molds up to 4 m in length and supports local printing for efficient material usage on smaller jobs.
Absolute Price Advantage
The J4000 delivers 4-meter capability at a fraction of the cost of European mega-format alternatives. Our customers confirm: the price-performance ratio is unmatched.
Dual-Platform Continuous Printing
Rail-mounted dual build platforms alternate between printing and cleaning, so the machine keeps producing while finished molds are removed — maximizing uptime.
Production-Proven Platform
J4000 systems are running in multiple smart manufacturing centers, producing molds for the largest castings in energy, marine, and industrial machinery.
Comprehensive Support
On-site installation, operator training, remote diagnostics, and guaranteed consumables supply. Our engineers support your mega-casting production.

Application Cases
Mega-castings produced on J4000 systems in production environments.

Hydropower Turbine Runner Mold
Francis turbine runner sand mold — 3.8 m diameter. Complex 3D blade geometry printed as a single integrated mold. Traditional pattern would have required 24+ segments and 12 weeks.

Ship Propeller Mold
Large marine propeller sand mold — 3.2 m diameter. Printed as cope/drag assembly with integrated gating system. Lead time reduced from 10 weeks to 7 days.

Wind Turbine Hub Casting
Wind turbine main hub casting — 3.5 m. Single-piece sand mold replacing an 18-piece traditional pattern. Cast in ductile iron. Dimensional inspection passed on first article.

Industrial Press Frame
Large hydraulic press frame mold — 4 m. Complex internal ribbing impossible with traditional patterns. Single-piece print eliminated 30+ core boxes.
Traditional Pattern Machining vs. the 3DPTEK-J4000
The same mega-casting, two very different cost structures. See what the J4000 changes.
Capacity estimate: the J4000 forms 3,800 × 1,850 × 1,000 mm per build — roughly 7 m³ of sand per full tank. At the design throughput of 130–360 L/h, a full tank completes in about 20–54 hours (theoretical, before local-printing savings on smaller jobs). Typical mega-molds occupy 40–60% of the tank, so one large mold set is usually finished in 1–2 days.

3DPTEK-J4000 FAQ
Straight answers on build size, materials, site preparation, delivery timelines, and seeing the J4000 in production.
The J4000 prints sand molds up to 4 meters in length using boxless flexible-area forming technology, with local printing supported for smaller jobs. Larger configurations of 6, 8 and 10 meters can be customized on request — and the breakthrough is that a 4 m+ machine is priced at the level of a 2.5 m machine.
The J4000's maximum build volume is 3,800 × 1,850 × 1,000 mm, inside a 4,000 × 2,000 × 1,000 mm build tank. Boxless flexible-area technology also supports local printing, so smaller jobs don't waste sand.
Quartz sand or ceramic (ceramsite) sand with furan or phenolic resin binders. Printed molds achieve tensile strength of 1.5–2.5 MPa and gas evolution of 8–15 ml/g at 850 °C.
The J4000 requires ≥5 t/m² floor load with engineered foundations, a building height of ≥4.5 m, 380VAC/50Hz/25KW three-phase power, and clean dry gas at 0.6–0.8 MPa (≥2.5 m³/min). We provide complete foundation drawings, utility specifications, and conduct pre-installation site surveys. Typical foundation preparation takes 4–8 weeks.
Standard delivery: 12–16 weeks. Installation and commissioning: 3–4 weeks. Foundation work can run in parallel with equipment manufacturing. Typical total timeline: 4–5 months.
