LaserCore-6000: When Your Parts Are Too Big for Standard SLS

A 1,050 mm build envelope with a dedicated 120W CO₂ laser. For foundries producing large impellers, oversized pump housings, and turbine components — parts that simply won’t fit in a standard SLS machine. Sand molds and wax patterns at the meter scale.

Your Castings Are Big. Your Printer Should Be, Too.

When a 700 mm build volume isn’t enough — when impellers exceed 800 mm in diameter and pump housings push past the meter mark — you need a printer built for the job. The LaserCore-6000 is purpose-engineered for foundries whose parts outgrow standard SLS systems.

Parts That Don’t Fit Standard SLS

Traditional pattern-making takes 2–8 weeks. The LaserCore-6000 goes from CAD to mold in hours. That's your competitive edge in every bid.

Multi-Piece Mold Assembly Complexity

Pattern tooling for complex castings can cost $5,000–$50,000+. With the 6000, there's no tooling. Print exactly the quantity you need — whether it's 1 or 1,000.

Month-Long Lead Times for Large Patterns

Large wooden or metal patterns take 4–12 weeks to produce and cost $20,000–$100,000+. The 6000 prints overnight. Days, not months.

What the LaserCore-6000 Delivers

The largest SLS build volume in the 3DPTEK lineup — engineered for foundries that operate at the meter scale.

1,050 × 1,050 × 650 mm Build Volume

50% larger than the 5300 in X and Y. Print impellers up to 1,050 mm diameter, pump housings over 1 m long. The largest single-piece SLS sand mold capability in its class.

80–300 cm³/h Throughput

More power for larger layers, faster sintering, and consistent energy density across the full 1,050 mm scan field. No compromise between size and throughput.

±0.1 mm Dimensional Accuracy

Tight tolerances that meet foundry requirements. Sand molds come out dimensionally stable; wax patterns need minimal finishing before investment.

Dual-Material: Sand + Wax on One Machine

Switch between coated sand and PSB wax powder. Run sand molds during the day, wax patterns overnight. One machine, two production capabilities.

Proven Reliability — 14+ Units Running Daily

We don't just sell this machine. We run 14+ LaserCore-6000 units in our own manufacturing centers. Every improvement from our production floor feeds back into the product.

Compact Footprint: 2,310 × 1,710 × 3,320 mm

Built to maintain alignment and precision at scale. Heavy steel frame, precision linear guides, industrial-grade motion control. Not a scaled-up desktop printer — a foundry workhorse.

Sand Molds & Wax Patterns — One Machine, Twice the Value

The LaserCore-6000 handles both coated sand and PSB wax — giving your foundry flexibility for both sand casting and investment casting workflows at the meter scale.

Sand Mold Printing

  • Coated silica sand / ceramic sand — furan or phenolic resin binder systems
  • Layer thickness: 0.08–0.35 mm, adjustable for surface finish vs. speed
  • Direct mold-and-core printing — no pattern required
  • Ideal for: pump housings, impellers, engine blocks, manifolds, large valve bodies
  • Typical tensile strength: 1.5–2.5 MPa (comparable to traditional no-bake sand)

Wax Pattern Printing (Investment Casting)

  • PSB (polystyrene-based) wax powder — burns out cleanly with minimal ash
  • Layer thickness: 0.08–0.30 mm for fine surface detail
  • Direct pattern printing — skip the wax injection mold entirely
  • Ideal for: turbine blades, impellers, automotive turbocharger components
  • Compatible with standard investment casting shell materials and processes

Why Foundries Choose 3DPTEK's LaserCore-6000

Not just specs — here's what makes the difference in daily production.

30+ Years of SLS Mastery

We built our first SLS system in 1994. The LaserCore-6000 is the result of three decades of continuous refinement — not a first-generation product from a startup.

We Run What We Sell

14+ LaserCore-6000 units operate in our own smart manufacturing centers. Every software update, every process improvement is battle-tested on our own production floor before it reaches you.

Global Brand Core Components

CO₂ laser, galvanometer scanner, motion control — sourced from leading global suppliers. Not the cheapest components. The most reliable ones. Because downtime costs more than components.

Price Advantage vs. Competitors

Comparable build volume and throughput at a significantly better price point than European and American alternatives. Lower acquisition cost, lower operating cost, and faster local support.

Application Engineering Included

We don't drop off a machine and leave. Our engineers work with your team to optimize print parameters for YOUR specific castings — material, layer thickness, orientation, post-processing.

Full After-Sales Ecosystem

On-site installation & training (3–5 days). Remote diagnostics. Preventive maintenance plans. Consumables supply. Our support engineers know this machine inside out — because they use it themselves.

LaserCore-6000 FAQ

  • The LaserCore-6000 offers a 1,050 × 1,050 × 650 mm build volume versus 700 × 700 × 500 mm on the 5300, with a 120W CO₂ laser and up to 300 cm³/h throughput. Choose the 5300 for mid-size production or tighter floor space. Choose the 6000 when impellers, pump housings, or turbine components exceed 700 mm — or when you want the full meter-scale capability in one machine.

  • Not simultaneously — you switch materials between builds. The changeover process takes about 30–60 minutes and involves cleaning the build chamber, switching the material hopper, and loading the new material profile. Many customers run sand during the day shift and wax overnight.

  • Most customers achieve full ROI within 12–18 months. Key savings come from: eliminating pattern tooling costs ($5,000–$50,000+ per pattern set), reducing lead time from weeks to days (winning more orders), and reducing scrap through better mold consistency. We can prepare a customized ROI analysis based on your specific casting portfolio.

  • On-site installation, commissioning, and operator training (3–5 days). Remote diagnostics, process parameter optimization support, and preventive maintenance guidance included. With 14+ LaserCore-6000 units running in our own facilities, our support team has deep hands-on experience with this platform — they're not reading from a manual, they're sharing production experience.

  • Absolutely. Visit one of our smart manufacturing centers in China to see multiple LaserCore-6000 units in production. Inspect print quality, talk to operators, and understand the full workflow from CAD to casting. We encourage site visits — seeing is believing. Contact us to schedule.
